David McCarthy
graduated from
the University
of Notre Dame with a
B.A. in English in 1971. From
1971 to 1975 he
was a reporter
for City News
Bureau, the
Evanston Review
and the Wilmette
Life. In 1979,
he
graduated cum
laude from John Marshall
Law School in
Chicago.
David was a member
of the
John
Marshall Law
Review for two
years and an
associate editor
of the Law
Review for one
year.
After law school, he spent one year as a law clerk for the Honorable George J. Schaller in the Chancery Division of the Cook County Circuit Court. He then practiced with the litigation group of Epton, Mullin & Druth, a full-service law firm in the Chicago Loop until it dissolved in 1989.
In
1989, he formed
his own law
practice in DuPage County. David is a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Naperville, IL and was a parish council member from 1992 to 1995. He was president of the Notre Dame Alumni Association of Naperville in 1993. David resides in Naperville with his wife, Patricia, and four children.
